Hudson is READING!

I am so stinking proud of Hudson right now!

Last night (11.15.10), Hudson read his very first book. It's an early reader called "FAT CAT". He's only seen the book once before - when he sounded out / read the words FAT and CAT and then decided he was done.

After doing a couple of pages in his math workbook, we decided to work on reading. I was fully expecting him to just sound out a couple of words and stop.

Not this time! He read the ENTIRE thing. Sounded out every word and only needed a little help from time to time.

I am probably the proudest mother in the world!

Not too shabby for a 4 year and 1 month old. =)

I will post a video tomorrow. It's super cute.

HEALTH UPDATE:
My kid never complains. He's, evidently, had an ear infection for quite some time, but never ran a fever and never once said his ear hurt. Weird kid.

Do any of my "allergy" friends have this problem with your kids? That they never really feel 100% good, so 80% is their "normal"? That is what I think is going on with Hudson. He's been allergic since birth, so he has never felt GREAT...maybe that is why he doesn't complain? He's just used to not feeling so hot?

We also start a new allergy medication tomorrow. Zyrtec doesn't seem to be cutting it anymore as he's had a chronic cough for about 8 weeks. Hopefully the ear infection meds + new allergy medication will = a Happy Thanksgiving!

Way to go Hudson! That's awesome that he is reading already.

Sorry I'm so late to respond, but YES, we notice that Nick is slow to complain about "normal" illnesses. Even when he's got a fever of 102, he runs around acting fine. We think, as you do, that his "normal" is painful, so viruses and colds just don't stop him that much. I truly believe, though, God is making our kids tough for a reason! He will use it, somehow, someway. :)
