Musings from Hudson

I know it's been ages since I posted - I am going to try to get better because, boy, do I have a lot to share!

In the meantime - a couple of cute things Hudson has going on.....



*  Hudson has a friend who lives in his closet.  The first time he mentioned him to me I was worried that it was going to be bad for our new routing of him sleeping in his own room as this was our original conversation:

Hudson:  Mom - did you know that my closet was haunted and that there is someone who lives in there?

Mommy:  No, I did not know that - can you tell me about that person?

Hudson:  He is very cool and when I go into my closet he takes me to a carnival and we play games and do you know what the prizes are?

Mommy:  What!?

Hudson: Millions of gummies!

I was, obviously, very relieved to know that his new friend in his haunted closet was a positive thing and not something to be afraid of.  Then today, when he woke up from nap I heard him playing with a little toy phone (you know the old-school Fisher Price one that babies pull around?  He never played with it as a baby, but evidently now it has a use.)  I went in to his room and this was our conversation:

Mommy:  Hey love bug, did you have a nice nap?

Hudson:  Yep.

Mommy:  Who are you calling?

Hudson:  Mom - do you see this seven (pointing to the number on the phone)?  This is the number that I use to call my friend in the closet.  I just have to dial seven.

Mommy:  That's easy to remember.  What is your friend's name?

Hudson:  Well, I don't really know....(thinking)...I think since he does magic all of the time, his name is Magic Man.

Mommy:  That sounds like a pretty good name - what does he look like?

Hudson:  Well...

Mommy:  What color hair does he have?

Hudson:  It's sort of like mine, but it's down (motioning long and straight) like PawPi's.

Mommy:  Oh - so it's long and straight but your color?

Hudson:  Yes!  Do you want to hear about how I get to his house?

Mommy:  Yes~  wait a minute, can I video you while you tell me about it?

Hudson:  No.

Mommy:  Okay - tell me about it.

Hudson:  I go in my closet and we take an elevator.  The elevator has to go up and up.  We go up to his house and he has lots of toys and (picture Hudson's face super animated and big eyes) MONSTER TRUCKS.

Mommy:  Wow - that is super cool - you like Monster Trucks.

Hudson:  He has Gravedigger and Crusher and Lightening and Mater Monster Trucks that are the BIG ones, not the little ones.

Mommy:  Cool - what does his house look like?

Hudson:  It's big like a monster truck.

Mommy:  That sounds really neat.  Maybe later you would like to draw a picture of his house, or of him, and we can hang it on your closet door.  I will help you spell Magic Man so he knows that it's for him.

Hudson:  Okay. Can I have my water cup, please.  I am dehydrating.




And this, my friends, is why I am prematurely getting gray hair.
